How will an understanding of anatomy & physiology transform your healing work?

Here's an engaging, fun, and applicable curriculum – you can follow it at your own pace, and keep as a reference – and it is especially tailored to herbalists and massage therapists.

When you enroll in the course, you get instant access to the lectures, notes, and recorded live Q&A sessions forever. See the curriculum and sample lessons below.

The result is a comprehensive understanding of HOW and WHY the body works through a holistic, yet still obsessively accurate lens.

"Tammi is the best kind of teacher ~ Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and impassioned. Whether she's teaching about plants or the body, she infuses everything with energy and passion."

- Rosemary Gladstar, Sage Mountain

Learn the major systems of the body

This curriculum is designed to move through the body, from the outside in. You can switch between self-study or participating in the live, 8 week guided program which includes live Q&A discussions.

We start on the “outside” (skin, lining of the respiratory and digestive systems are actually considered outside) and work our way inside (into the blood or lymph), like your food, your medicine or foreign pathogens.

Once inside, we’ll look at how your body defends itself through the Immune and Lymphatic Systems. We’ll look at how the Muscle system and Skeletal system work together to allow for movement of the body.

Then we look at the 3 ways your body communicates within itself; electrically through the Nervous system, chemically through the Endocrine system, and mechanically through the connective tissue.

We will round out the course with two weeks of learning how the men and women’s reproductive systems work, and how are body rids itself of wastes through the Urinary system.

Check out the curriculum, and sample lesson on the physiology of pain to learn more.

"...even the things I already know from years of self-study are made clearer & more applicable to my work by Tammi's fine teaching.

For me this online course is time and money well spent!"

- Robin Rose Bennett, Instructor & Author, Wise Woman Healing Ways

Tammi Sweet
Tammi Sweet

Researcher, educator, guest lecturer, and co-founder of Heartstone Center for Earth Essentials in Van Etten, NY.

Tammi received her formal training in Neurobiology & Endocrinology and is a licensed massage therapist. She has worked for many years as an instructor in Anatomy and Physiology at the college level, and at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY.

In addition to teaching the brilliance of the body, Tammi loves to bring others into deeper relationship with the natural world and with spirit. Tammi has been a practitioner of herbal medicine and a teacher of primitive skills & herbal medicine for many years. She studied herbal medicine with Rosemary Gladstar & Pam Montgomery, Spirit & Earth-based skills and philosophy with Rocio Alarcon, Brooke Medicine Eagle and Tom Brown, Jr. and has been influenced by many other wonderful herbalists especially Stephen Buhner’s pioneering work on the heart as an organ of perception.

Her background in physiology has made her a valuable resource to developing herbalists and massage therapists who want to deepen their foundations as practitioners. In 2007, she decided to integrate these loves into her own school and co-founded the Heartstone Center for Earth Essentials with Kris Miller. Since 2013, Tammi has been teaching an 8 week Online Anatomy & Physiology course, and recently released Transition Zones Advanced Topics.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I get stuck?
Getting stuck is part of the learning process – so what matters is having the support to get "un-stuck". This is one of the main reasons I created this online course. I can provide regular live sessions that work through the material along with the ability to re-watch and keep the videos on hand.
Is this course really risk free?
Yes! Absolutely. I don’t want you to invest in this course unless physiology education really is the missing link between you and a more knowledgeable and confident practice of herbal medicine. That’s why I’m giving you a full 30 days to apply what you’re learning before making a final commitment. If you do the work and decide this course is not right for you, just let us know and we will refund your investment.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own. As a student, you'll even have access to new material, updates, and live sessions in the future.
